Monthly Q&A with Dan + George || September 2021

Check back each month to have your FBA, FBM, shipping, inventory, and warehouse logistics questions answered. In this monthly Q&A series, our Warehouse Manager, Dan Mattison, and Director of Operations & Logistics, George Papazekos, answer some of your most frequently asked questions.

What are your shipping rates like?

Freight costs are determined by the number/dimensions of pallets in a shipment and the distance to the Amazon warehouse. Our freight shipping rates have gone up throughout the year and there really isn’t anything we can do to lower/change the price. Amazon picks the destination and carrier, so you are basically stuck with where they have you sending orders. Sellers can always set up their own shipping/freight for FBA freight shipments, but the prices are usually more than the ones offered by Amazon.

How do I recover a pallet with no Amazon labels delivered to Amazon warehouse?

We haven't found a way for Amazon to locate pallets with no information on them. One of our clients did this and we did not end up finding it. Usually, Amazon will just try to scan the pallet in via the items barcode (if any) and that inventory would just get attributed to the seller account that has that listing in their store with manufacturer barcode. If each item had to be labeled with an Amazon barcode, then that seller would most likely not get this inventory attributed to them.

Do we manage our shipping settings for FBA products?

Nope, Amazon will take care of the shipping settings/offers for any product sent into FBA.

Units shipped stuck in 'FC Processing' 30 Days - what does this mean?

FC Processing means the inventory has been received by Amazon and are most likely getting moved to other Amazon fulfillment centers. This inventory is still buyable, but these units will not show up as a prime option until they are removed from FC Processing. My guess is that Amazon’s FC Processing has taken a lot longer than usual, due to COVID. Warehouses are backed up by inventory and have less workers, so things are taking longer than normal. I would just keep trying through Amazon seller support, bc there really isn’t anything else you can do until Amazon locates that transferred inventory.
